"Best steak I've ever had"

Took my husband to Red Prime for his birthday and he's been telling everyone "It was the best steak I've ever had." He's very picky about his steak so I was kinda shocked at his glowing endorsem*nt. I had sea bass and it was also excellent. My french onion soup was also really good and the Riesling was excellent. It was pricey but it was a great experience and our server, Jason was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Oh, and as stuffed as we were, we ate every bit of the pecan ice cream ball with chocolate sauce because we just couldn't help ourselves!

We hit the Trifecta ....!

I've wanted to visit Red Prime for a few years since reading some outstanding reviews. So for a birthday overnight mini trip and dinner we decided to drive the 3 hours to OKC for dinner last Sunday night.Good fortune for us.We arrived early for our 7pm reservation so we were able to take advantage of their Happy Hour - the bartender knew his business and made us great co*cktails.When we sat down we learned Sundays are 1/2 price bottles of wine day. Whoopie .... can't go wrong there.The third leg of the Trifecta was their prixe fixed menu - 4 courses, $57 ....turns out it was a bargain. Check out the menu on their web site to see for yourself. Everything we ordered was well prepared, used quality ingredients, plated artistically and served by professionals.Ambiance was not your typical dark clubby steakhouse but an upscale urban vibe.Don't hesitate. Find a reason to go.

Fun and trendy

Great dinner at the Red PrimeSteak. Our server was very helpful with the menu, the seating was comfortable, and the food was delicious. The steak options looked delicious but we opted for seafood. Would love to return and try something different!

Bad Service, and food not worth price

We were there last Saturday with friends. We had a reservation at 8:30pm, showed up on time and had to wait at least 30 min for a table. The service was slow, It took too long to get our drinks. Twenty minutes after we ordered the manager came to the table to tell us they we out of the fried chicken, it took them twenty minutes. It was more than disappointing to have to wait that long for a reserved table, pay that much for food that was just okay, be told they were actually out of an item we ordered, and have to endure extremely slow service. I have had much better dining experiences for a fraction of the cost.

Disappointed

We went on Open Table to make a reservation the night before and we’re only given the option of 5:45 or 6:45. That’s cool, but we got there at 6:15,apologized for being early, and were sat at the bar for a half hour, even though it was clear tons of tables were available. Lucas at the bar was hospitable, but I was hangry, and not happy. Our apps were quite good, as was the side of potatoes gratin. My wife’s NY strip was good. My ribeye was dry and tough, though, and also under seasoned. When you spend $59 on a ribeye you expect it to be juicy and perfectly cooked. Give me $30 and a well seasoned cast iron pan, and I will make a ribeye that blows this one away.

Expected more.

Wanted to love it more. I only eat red meat occasionally so saved up have it here. After going over everything & returning to take our order our server drops that there’s a tomahawk, after expressing a desire for a prime filet. Was this a secret? Maybe only meant for customers who looked fancy (as it was $175 for two), & we didn’t look the part? Anyway, we ordered it… supposedly perfectly aged, marbled & crusted; i asked for it to be rare to medium rare. It came medium & was not particularly tasty:(One friend had a lobster tail which was fine, another a petite filet; all unspecial. The salads were good, but even the sides were pretty mediocre. The potatoes gratin were dry. A manager popped by to inquire after our meal, while we were still eating & because he asked, i told him. He saw the overcooked meat & acknowledged that indeed it was medium & offered to take 1/2 off steak & give us free desserts- which was nice. But with tax & tip the meal for 4 was still $650, so for that price, I expected more.

Over Hyped

he staff and our server were quite hospitable, but it is obvious there is still a shortage of restaurant personnel due to the Covid pandemic.The crab cakes appetizer tasted different than those offered elsewhere, in a good way with large pieces of lump crab and fantastic seasoning, although the odd number of three was strange for a party of four or even for a couple. A friend's steak tamales were ordered out of curiosity and we were all delightfully surprised with the delicate texture, presentation, and excellent flavor. Two Iceberg Bowl salads were ordered, and while we are bleu cheese fans, the lettuce was swimming in an overabundance of salad dressing to the point that I saved some large curds for my steak! And fourthly on the apps, he enjoyed the RPs Tomatoes.Three ordered 7 oz. Filets at different temps and varied crust and sauce toppings. My wild mushroom crust was so salty, the steak was barely edible but I managed to scrape some crust off and dip it in the tasty brandy mushroom sauce. The fourth entrée was delicious and generously sized Salmon Puttanesca with the fluffy and tasty goat cheese polenta cake. A side of Flash Fried Baby Spinach looked like plastic and actually jumped off the plate while trying to manage it with a fork. It was useless to fight it since it had no flavor anyway.Warm Chocolate Spoon Cake and Chef's Sorbet were beautifully presented and were so large in size, we couldn't finish the delectable endings. We should've had dessert first and called it a night.It was the first visit for two out-of-towners and the second for the other couple. Was it overhyped because it's expensive in a wonderful setting? For global travelers, we concluded the food looks great in print, but unfortunately, did not meet our expectations.

Worth the money, amazing experience.

We made a reservation which I highly recommend. Out server was very helpful and polite. They do have private seating booths if you want a little extra privacy while eating. The food is wonderful! We ordered off the pre fix menu it’s a great way to try several things at a good price. The steak was cooked to perfection, well seasoned and the crust and sauce options are fabulous. Hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Average at best

We went there to celebrate my inlaws 50th wedding anniversary. The place is very nice and the wait staff was very attentive. That being said I thought the food was WAY overpriced for the quality we received. To be honest the sirloin steak at Texas Roadhouse is far superior to anything we ate here! If you like overpriced places that have mediocre food then this is your place. If you want a decent steak at a good price - look elsewhere.

Beautiful space, first class meal

Was intrigued by the description of the renovation of this space from a car showroom to a restaurant and it did not disappoint! Well done design, comfortable atmosphere. The food was excellent. Even the bread and butter to start was different, a little salty, fresh baked bread and a cube of butter. Typical high end steak, perfectly cooked, with unique crust and sauces included. Had the crispy spinach side, was blown away, a must have!

Wonderful Meal

Went with a group of 4 for dinner while in town for a conference. Three ordered the aged sirloin and I had the 10oz. filet. All were impressed with the quality of the steak and how well it was cooked. Two of us at the table were problem children, asking for our steak to be cooked "just shy" of medium and the kitchen came through for us. Several of my companions ordered various sauces and finishes for their steak and liked them, but I'm always suspicious of sauces being used to cover substandard cuts or other faults. I ordered mine with the basic crushed pepper crust and it was perfect. No sauce needed for this perfect filet. We shared bacon-sherry brussel sprouts and black truffle risotto as sides and they were both incredible. All paired with an excellent wine.I have to mention that our server Larry did an excellent job getting us just what we asked for and taking excellent care of us.I would consider Red PrimeSteak to be "upscale" but definitely a situation where you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

Perfect Steak and presentation

We were here for a team event and were pleasantly surprised. All I heard was “best steak I have had!”, so yes we enjoyed the quality of the meat, the cooking and presentation was perfect. My personal favorite side dish is the flash fried baby spinach!

Delicious and incredible service

Extremely cool setting in a converted car dealership, really interesting interior design, we loved it. The service was off the chain, we had an incredible waiter. We had a delicious steak, mushrooms and truffle fries - all super good!

Interesting decor and grand food!

We very much enjoyed our visit to Red Prime. We sat at something of an isolated table, which was to our liking. The wait person was exceptional-courtesy, knowledgeable, and patient. The food was tops. We had the steak and the fried chicken and both were as good as anywhere in town. And the chocolate desert was extravagant. We look forward to our next visit.
