Talking about emotional receptions and teen talents...

Brazil forward Endrick, 18, was moved to tears as he was officially unveiled to Real Madrid fans following his move from Palmeiras, two years after signing for the reigning La Liga champions.

"Ever since I was a kid I was fascinated and in love with Madrid," Endrick said in a news conference to mark his unveiling.

"So playing for Real Madrid today is just amazing. I didn't want to cry but I really felt this."

Teenager Mikey Moore has been causing quite a stir after scoring twice in Tottenham's pre-season matches.

The 16-year-old forward weighed in with a late winner as Tottenham overcame Japanese champions Vissel Kobe 3-2 in Tokyo on Saturday, following up on his goal in a 5-1 win over Hearts.

Here are some of the comments BBC Sport received about Moore from Spurs fans:

Matt: Some good attacking football, and great to see the academy players step up. Hopefully he gives Moore and Lankshear a run with the first team squad rather than loan them out. As we've seen with Yamal, if you're good enough you're old enough!

Alan: Nice to see Ange keeping faith with the academy players, that's what tours are all about - giving them game time. Mikey Moore looks an exceptional player at 16 and could save Spurs a lot of money in the future.

Mark: That's the second goal in pre-season for Mikey Moore. I think he's had an assist or two as well in the three pre-season games so far. This boy is going to be a massive player for us in the near future. Apart from a couple of very sloppy mistakes that led to their goals, the early indicators are good for next season.

Daz: Mikey Moore putting in the Yamal performances but without the media hype. We have a superstar and he's one of our own.

Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign winger Yang Min-hyuk from Gangwon FC.

The 18-year-old, who will join Spurs, external in January 2025, in a deal that will run until 2030, told the club website that he was excited to visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in what would be his first visit to London.

"Joining such a big club is an honour, I will try my best to show my best," said the South Korea youth international, who has scored eight goals in his 25 matches for Gangwon.

"My style is very aggressive, I’m good with one-on-ones and quite fast. I also have good finishing skills.

"I have never been to London, but I am very excited to visit and see Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

"It’s a big challenge, but I believe I can show and prove my talent."

In netting his first goal for the club in March, he became the youngest K League scorer since 2013.

Yang will be the third Korean footballer to join Spurs after current captain Son Heung-min and Lee Young-pyo.

Girona are close to signing Tottenham winger Bryan Gil on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old is widely expected to complete a move back to Spain having struggled to establish himself at Spurs.

Gil, a £21m signing in 2021 from Sevilla, has played just 43 times since moving to the Premier League.

His return to Spain could see an option or obligation to buy included in the deal.

Part of the City Football Group with Manchester City, Girona qualified for the Champions League for the first time in the club's history by finishing third in Spain's top flight last season.

Southampton are closing in on the £7m signing of forward Ben Brereton Diaz from Spanish side Villarreal.

The 25-year-old is expected to move to St Mary's to end his short spell in Spain.

He moved to the Yellow Submarine last summer after leaving Blackburn, following five years at Ewood Park.

But the Chile international struggled to make a consistent impact at the La Liga club. He failed to score in 20 appearances for Villarreal, although just six were starts.

Brereton Diaz joined Sheffield United on loan in January and scored six times in 14 Premier League appearances for the Blades, but was unable to stop their relegation from the top flight.

Get Involved - Liverpool fans on style of play under Slotpublished at 10:36 29 July

    Liverpool

Jamie: A really solid first game. Nowhere near our fluid best without our key players, but that will come over the course of the season. Slot definitely fills me with confidence. Worth mentioning how good Trey Nyoni looked - clearly a very, very special player.

Andy: Neat football, crisp passing, not dithering and winning the ball back quickly. The kids did really well and set a template for their better known colleagues to follow. A bright start to the Slot era.

Jacqueline: It was only 1-0, so hardly convincing. Playing with no striker here? I do hope this isn't how Slot intends to have the lads playing in the Premier League. I had never heard of him until a few days before he was named head coach. Alarm bells been ringing in my ears ever since.

Ken: The football was less frantic and the patterns of play were better on the eye with quick, sharp passing to retain possession. Took too many chances playing out from the back, though, and better opposition with a better press could pounce on those opportunities. Trey Nyoni was the breakout star showing composure and mature decision making. Good result.

Paul: Concerning how often we lost possession or were close to doing so by overplaying at the back, but expect this to improve with fitness and more senior players. Overall, a decent showing but hopefully a lot better to come. Nyoni the standout performer, bright future ahead.

  8. Slot's style of play is a lot different - Elliottpublished at 10:19 29 July

    10:19 29 July

Liverpool forward Harvey Elliott says new manager Arne Slot's style of play is a typically "elegant" Dutch style - compared to Jurgen Klopp's 'heavy metal football'.

The 21-year-old started Saturday's 1-0 win over Real Betis to open Liverpool's United States tour and was speaking before Thursday's match against Arsenal at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia .

"The style of play is a lot different. It's more about in possession now. The players are excited, we play certain patterns, it is a good buzz around the team and the lads are excited to apply it in games," says Elliott.

  12. 'Kroenke paid all $5bn for SoFi Stadium'published at 09:35 29 July

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport in Los Angeles

Sources said Manchester United’s chief operating officer Collette Roche has been assessing stadium redevelopments worldwide, including the Optus Stadium in Perth, which opened in 2018, and Real Madrid’s renovated Bernabeu Stadium.

There has also been discussion with officials at the 70,000-capacity SoFi Stadium, where United were beaten by Arsenal in a US tour game on Saturday.

Inglewood Mayor James T Butts confirmed Gunners' owner Stan Kroenke paid all $5bn (£3.88bn) to build SoFi Stadium, home to the LA Rams and LA Chargers NFL sides, describing it as the "pre-eminent stadium in the world".

He told BBC Sport: “Ordinarily, when a team goes into a new stadium, the city pays $300-$500m (£232.86m-£388.1m) for construction costs or an equivalent amount of land.

"We did neither of those things. What we had was the location. We made a deal that suited both of us but it didn’t involve funding or buying land. Stan Kroenke paid $5bn (£3.88bn).”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe's £1.25bn deal for his 27.7% stake in Manchester United included £237m for future investment in the club's stadium. His Ineosgroup have taken over football operations from majority owners the Glazerfamily.

Complications in renovating the 74,310-capacity OldTrafford, which has been Manchester United’s home since 1910, include a railwayline at the back of the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand and having to significantlyreduce capacity during building works, causing inconvenience to fans and amajor loss of revenue.

Unlike Tottenham, who played at Wembley while their£1.2bn stadium was being completed, United have no obvious alternative groundto use.

Ratcliffewants local and national government to play some part in funding the overallproject although, realistically, that is likely to be around transport links.

Exactly how the stadium, which is estimated would cost more than £2bn, would be financed is one ofthe subjects still being discussed by the taskforce.

ManchesterUnited’s owners hope to make a final decision on whether to spend more than£2bn on a new 100,000-seat stadium by the end of 2024.

United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffewants to build a ‘Wembley of the north’ forthe side and, together with Trafford Council, has put together a taskforce, chaired by Lord Sebastian Coe and including Greater Manchester Mayor AndyBurnham and former club skipper Gary Neville, to assess the feasibility of anew stadium and redevelopment of Old Trafford.

Club sources confirmed the taskforce has already metfour times, with discussion largely centred around a new-build rather thanrenovating the existing stadium, which would cost around £1.2bn and take longerto complete.

Wolves manager Gary O'Neil says Matheus Cunha will not be risked again "until he's completely fine" after the Brazil forward was substituted because of a knee injury in Sunday's pre-season victory over West Ham in Florida.

Cunha, 25, scored the opener in a 3-1 win in Jacksonville, where the start was delayed because of following stormy weather, but was later withdrawn.

"He [Cunha] felt a slight pain behind his knee," said O'Neil.

"It’s disappointing. With the game being delayed and the wet pitch, they work so hard and are finely tuned, so it doesn’t take much to throw them.

"Matheus is incredibly important to us, but the early signs don’t look bad. He won’t be risked again until he’s completely fine, so the next few days I can provide an update."

New West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui's side suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of former club Wolves in their pre-season friendly in Jacksonville, Florida.

In a match that was delayed because of stormy weather, Matheus Cunha put Wolves in front before having to go off injured.

Mohammed Kudus equalised for the Hammers just before half-time, but two goals from Rodrigo Gomes after the break gave Wolves the win.

Lopetgui has replaced David Moyes as West Ham boss, and said the Hammers "have to improve in a lot of things with and without the ball".

He added: "We have a lot of work to do in front of us."

Meanwhile, Aston Villa were also beaten on their pre-season tour in the United States as they lost 4-1 to Columbus Crew during a game in which midfielder Emi Buendia made his return from a long-term knee injury.

Buendia, who had been sidelined since sustaining a knee ligament injury last August, came on with Amadou Onana and Ian Maatsen, who were making their first Villa appearances after signing for the club in the summer, after 63 minutes with their side already 4-1 down.

"The best news is his comeback," said Villa boss Unai Emery. "Emiliano Buendia’s comeback after one year.

"We are happy with his return and we have to work now with him trying to get the best of him progressively.

"The first 30 minutes he played, really, is fantastic for us and for the team."

Cucho Hernandez scored twice for Columbus before Cameron Archer pulled one back.

Hernandez completed his hat-trick and Dylan Chambost put the Major League Soccer side 4-1 up.

"Of course, the result is not good but, for us, now the result is not the most important," added Emery.

"Most important is to build a team, get information about the players, and this was the first match for some players, and they played well. Even losing, they played well."
